Gavin is 9 years old. His age will always be easy to remember- he is a millenium baby. And he has a lifetime of free tickets to see the Globetrotters. Really. Did you know that? Did you sign your millenium baby up for that? He was born a cowboy, and I am not just saying that because we are a serious OK State family. He was born a cow-poke kind of cowboy. Horses, boots, cows, Gunsmoke, you name it, he loves it. This is somewhat of an issue, since we don't live on a ranch or farm. I have had to seek out riding lessons since age 3. He also loves Davy Crockett and military history. I think he may have been born in the wrong era! Gavin also is ADD, diagnosed at age 6 by brain EEG scan. He is on Vyvanse daily. Our doctor specializes only in this field and the scientific measurement and treatment. This is important! We still have daily struggles and challenges. ADD kids do not like structure and schedules. The school year can make him very grumpy. Having a clean room is nearly impossible. But, he's a sweet kid & eager to please. He is very athletic and loves baseball and football- especially throwing! He would play catch for hours.
Meet Grayce
This is my Grayce. She is 5. Born four years and 2 days after her big brother. My due date was the same with both, and since I tend to have large children- I get induced. So, of course at the time, Gavin wanted her to be born on his birthday, but thank the good Lord I had the foresight to nip that in the bud and have him pick another day. A day AFTER his birthday. These 2 kiddos are a little competitive in nature. Anyway, she is my girl. A girly girl, a sweetheart and loves to do all things girly. Shopping and dressing and putting on make-up. And bossing, and telling on her brother, and socializing. Socializing. That is a big one. She does not know a stranger, that girl. She is often the belle of the ball. She knows just how to sugar you up with compliments and hugs & kisses. And she has a giggle like none other.
